Ramadan

Please remember The holy month of Ramadan for 2008 is expected to commence from 01 September until 01 October. Throughout the day the serving of alcohol will be restricted and bars will only be open from dusk. There will be no live entertainment. Please remember to respect local customs: do not eat, drink or smoke in public places during the daylight hours and dress sensibly.


Building Work

The construction of a new resort has started on the right side of Le Meridien Al Aqah. This is not causing any major disturbance at the moment as at this stage the trucks are only moving the sand on the site in preparation for the excavation process. The hotel will endeavour to allocate guests to the opposite side of the hotel to avoid disturbance. The beach at Le Meridien al Aqah is under renovation.Phase I is complete, in the area near the Diving Centre. Phase II is expected to be complete by mid Sep 2008, which involves the landscaping and upgrading of the existing umbrellas. The works will cause sporadic disturbance. Baywatch restaurant has been closed for major-refurbishment; the restaurant is expected to be back in operation around Christmas time. Work will commence on 1st September where major disturbance is expected for two days as the existing structure will be demolished, medium disturbance is expected till 6th September 2008. After the first week most of the work will be done outside, in the contracted companys workshop and only the installation will be done on site. Sporadic minor disturbance although no major inconvenience to our hotel guests will continue throughout the month of September and October.
